The ITQA Analyst for Interfaces and Reporting will work closely with the Senior ITQA Lead for the overall project as well as the vendor and the implementation partner to set the IT Quality Assurance process and test strategies for their assigned track for all phases of the testing cycle.

The desired candidate will be an expert in Interfaces and Reporting. This position will be an IT Quality Analyst, advocating for Quality and the Quality Assurance and Testing Process. The role requires someone who is influential, politically savvy, and has superb oral and written communication skills with the ability to work in an environment where there are many organizations and leaders often pulling in different directions at any given time. This role will identify quality and testing risks and recommend risk mitigation strategies working closely with program and project management to communicate these risks to executives.

This role will immerse themselves in the revenue cycle billing process during the requirements gathering phase, identifying testing opportunities early as well as identifying quality risks. Throughout the planning phase the candidate will gain the knowledge and expertise necessary in the business and in Athena IDX to work closely with the vendors and business partners to set the test strategy for their track. This role will support the IT Quality Assurance Interfaces and Reporting Lead by creating test cases, executing tests, and identifying defects.



Primary Job Duties:
  • Understanding of Interfaces within a large ecosystem.
  • Write advanced SQL queries for report testing.
  • Identifies and creates test cases, ensuring coverage to all the requirements identified during the planning phase.
  • Writes detailed test cases from the requirements documents and workflows.
  • Supports the Senior ITQA lead in planning and estimating quality assurance deliverables.
  • Ensures all requirements for assigned track are planned for, all test cases are linked to the proper requirement(s), all test cases are executed, all defects are updated, and root causes have been researched, communicated, and addressed.
  • Attends requirements sessions and identifies quality risks and defects early in the process to prevent failures.
  • Works closely with the Senior ITQA Lead to monitor adherence to quality standards and identifies and reports on quality risks.
  • Oversees the tracking of quality assurance metrics such as defect density and open defect counts.
  • Executes test cases and identifies defects.
  • Facilitates defect management, triage, and prioritization meetings for assigned track.
  • Supports Interface and Reporting quality assurance leadership and guidance to the members of the project team and project leadership team.

Required Experience and Skills:
  • Advanced SQL experience required.
  • Strong ETL testing skills.
  • Experience working with data in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience creating test plans and strategies for complex system implementations.
  • Experience writing and executing tests for Interface testing.
  • Strong understanding of HL7 Transactions.
  • Understanding of InterSystems is a plus.
  • Experience writing and executing tests for custom Report testing.
  • Experience in an outpatient, hospital, or Comprehensive Cancer Center setting.
    • Experience in Billing and Claims processing in a Healthcare payer setting may also be considered.
  • Experience with Invision or Athena IDX a plus.
  • 5+ years’ experience in an analyst role (ie: Project Management, Test Management, Manager, Director, etc)
  • 5+ years’ experience testing on complex integrated programs in corporate environments.
  • 5+ years’ working in Interfaces, Report, and/or Data Modeling (development or testing).
  • Experience working with vendors, developers, and business partners to triage and prioritize issues for resolution.
  • Experience Identifying Risk and recommending risk mitigation strategies.
  • Hands on experience in:
    • Writing test strategies and test plans on large complex corporate initiatives.
    • Writing test cases with and without documented requirements provided.
    • Producing daily, weekly, monthly test metrics on large corporate initiatives.
    • Executing tests and identifying defects.
  • Experience working on a Revenue Cycle system implementation a plus.
  • Hands on experience with Micro Focus ALM or other test management software a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge with software testing concepts: regression testing, negative testing, White Box v. Black Box, functional v. Non-functional testing, defect reporting standards, reproducibility of results.

  • Software Quality Assurance and Testing – Knowledge of and ability to apply appropriate processes, tools, and techniques for assuring a high level of quality in computer software products and systems.
  • Technical Documentation Management – Knowledge of, and experience in management of the development, delivery and maintenance of technology product documentation and publications
