We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented PACS Administrator to oversee and manage the Fuji Synapse Version 7 Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) within our healthcare organization. This remote position is crucial for ensuring optimal system performance, providing user support, and collaborating with clinical, technical, and administrative teams to maintain seamless imaging workflows.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Radiologic Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience managing Fuji Synapse PACS systems, specifically Version 7.
  • Strong understanding of DICOM, HL7, and PACS integration with EMR/EHR systems.
  • Hands-on experience with modality workflows (CT, MRI, X-ray, Ultrasound, etc.).
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting PACS-related hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Familiarity with storage solutions and disaster recovery strategies for imaging data.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and other healthcare compliance standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Fuji Synapse PACS administration.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud-based PACS solutions.
  • Background in radiology or imaging informatics.
Responsibilities
  • System Administration: Manage, configure, and maintain the Fuji Synapse Version 7 PACS to ensure uninterrupted functionality.
  • Perform routine system monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Apply software updates, patches, and upgrades as required in compliance with vendor and organizational policies.
  • User Support and Training: Provide technical support and training to radiologists, technologists, and other end-users.
  • Respond to user issues and resolve them promptly, minimizing downtime.
  • Develop and maintain user documentation, guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Integration and Workflow Optimization: Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to integrate PACS with other healthcare systems, such as EMR/EHR, RIS, and modalities (CT, MRI, X-ray, etc.).
  • Analyze and optimize imaging workflows to improve efficiency and patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with DICOM, HL7, and other industry standards.
  • Data Management: Monitor storage and archive capacity, ensuring adequate availability for imaging data.
  • Implement and manage data backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Maintain data integrity, security, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Collaboration and Vendor Management: Act as the primary liaison between the organization and Fuji Synapse support teams for issue resolution and system enhancements.
  • Coordinate with vendors and third-party contractors during system implementations, upgrades, or troubleshooting.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the PACS system adheres to all regulatory standards, including HIPAA, Joint Commission, and other applicable healthcare regulations.
  • Participate in audits and provide documentation as needed.
