Position Summary

As a leader in healthcare and pediatric research, the client relies on robust IT solutions to support and manage a complex portfolio of research initiatives and funding sources. The ideal candidate will have experience in Workday system implementation, configuration, and support, as well as knowledge of research management and grant administration workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Workday Management & Support: Oversee the administration, optimization, and troubleshooting of the Workday platform, specifically focusing on modules that support research and grants functions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with research administrators, finance teams, principal investigators, and IT staff to understand their needs and ensure Workday’s alignment with hospital goals.
- Process Improvement: Identify, design, and implement process improvements that enhance research and grants management workflows within Workday.
- Project Leadership: Lead Workday implementation projects, upgrades, and feature enhancements to improve efficiency in grants and research management. Coordinate with the IT team to ensure seamless transitions and minimal disruptions.
- Training & Documentation: Develop and deliver training sessions and user documentation to ensure hospital staff can effectively use Workday features relevant to their roles in research and grant administration.
- System Security & Compliance: Ensure that research and grants-related data within Workday is secure and compliant with regulatory requirements, including data access protocols and reporting standards.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant certification in Workday or research management is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Workday administration, with at least 3 years in a research or grants administration context, preferably in healthcare or academic research environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Workday Grants Management and Financials; experience in configuration, reporting, data integration, and security within Workday.
- Knowledge of Research and Grants Administration: Strong understanding of the lifecycle of research projects and grants, including budgeting, compliance, reporting, and fund allocation processes.
- Communication and Leadership: Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels, drive change, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Analytical Skills: Demonstrated experience in analyzing and troubleshooting system issues, with a strategic focus on enhancing user experience and operational efficiency.
- Workday certifications, particularly in Grants Management or Financials.
- Familiarity with Lean, Agile, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Experience in a healthcare or academic research setting with a focus on pediatric research administration.
